Coffee Klatch Monday ~ How YOU Doin'?

G'mornin' my pretties!

After my big post yesterday, and all the turn out for it here and at facebook, I'm gonna swing things over to you.

How long have you been writing, and why did you stick with it? Any bumps along the way. Some of you, I know your story, but I'm inviting you to share if you want.

So... how are you dealing with your writing? Any thing you want to share go for it here, or if you can't leave a message, hit me over on facebook. I'm a good listener.

Happy Monday, everyone!

  1. I wrote all the time before the year 2000, it was like I trained myself to do 2,500 words every Saturday for four hour stints. Clock work I was writing one book every six months and random stuff during the week, it was going great. Now the dramatic music... moved to my new house within three months my wife left me to have a child with another man, forth month my job closed...sixth month my grandmother died, tenth month my uncle choked to death, one year finally a divorce, one year four months my aunt was killed in a car accident... things got a little better until the car accident.

My writings took a back seat to my life, though before the accident I wrote a little... my brain couldn't let me type it was short words, weird words... angry words, my monster passion was gone. now it's not all depressing... just a few more bad things and some great things too... my father passed away from cancer, lost another job... fell in love again... another car accident where I am permanently injured on my right side...

I am writing... just not the same. Wow sorry for the Monday whine.... I really came to for the coffee...

  2. I wrote my first novela when I was 14 or 15. It was mostly fan fiction but I realized how much fun it was to create my own stories- almost as fun as reading them! I enjoyed creative writing throughout school and college but didn't start seriously writing (or finish my first book) until three years ago. If anything, I think the actual writing has gotten easier over the years even if the closer you get to your dreams, the harder the falls.

  3. I've been writing since I was eleven or twelve. The obstacle I've found that I occasionally have to deal with is that if I'm having a down time, writing tends to be hard to come by.

  4. I am so glad to hear from all of you guys!

~Jeremy, life has handed you a real gutter ball. But you have not quit. I did not hear that from your words, here. Coffee and coffee cake for you, help yourself, hon!

~ CQG. Nice to hear from you again! Yes. The falls, but you pick yourself back up!

~William, hopefully the down-time doesn't last too long. We are a quirkly bunch, us writers. I think I may have to do a blog about how we deal with our stresses of life, and write through it all. Interesting these comments.

Hope to hear from more of you!

i had ever chance to fail and i kept moving forward... telling myself to keep getting up, nothing last forever... now if you could help me find the witch who put the curse on me... and apologize to them from the bottom of my heart.

    :)

  6. I don't like zombies and vampires and the last book I read about stuff like that was by Mary Shelly. Wonderful book, by the way and I wish you a lot of luck in the very crowded field of doom and gloom. I think next time I visit I'll bring my garlic and crucifix! I've been writing since elementary school, but that doesn't make me great or anything. Just because I had wonderful teachers doesn't mean I have to start acting like I'm special! LOL

  7. Desert - that is one book I really need to read!

I understand that vampires (I don't do zombies), are not everyone's thing. I got hooked as an impressionable teenager on Dark Shadows, and so I'll blame it on that.

Good to hear from you here. Thanks for chiming in. And don't worry, I won't allow anything to bite you, or frighten you here. Just don't come in the evening LOL!
